We’re set to launch the 100,000 Kids Campaign which aims to reach 100,000 Aussie kids through the Australian edition of the Educator’s DVD & ToolKit, creating the spark to ignite a new generation of Upstanders!
Lee returned to Australia for the launch events for GoodPitch2 Australia where BULLY was screened accompanied by Q&A sessions with Lee. Following this, the interest and need for The BULLY Project in Australia was clear. Shark Island Institute and The Caledonia Foundation with the support of Documentary Australia Foundation gave life to The BULLY Project Australia. Since we have been speaking to Australian teachers, educators, education and mental health experts to explore how The BULLY Project can be most useful in Australia. We have decided to focus on developing an Australia edition of The BULLY Project Educator’s DVD and Toolkit. We’re bringing on a growing list of partners including UnLtd, Bennelong Foundation, The Pierce Armstrong Foundation, the Victorian Department of Education & Training and BullyStoppers, with more to be announced soon!
In late 2014, The Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood and ACMI released the BULLY iBook weaving clips from BULLY into BullyStoppers classroom lessons.
The Victorian Department of Education distributed a copy of the film BULLY to all their government schools.
BULLY was released in Australia and screened at Melbourne International Film Festival where Director Lee Hirsch joined a panel of local personalities and experts to talk about how the film was designed to bring about change.
